Roger lived a full and vibrant 75 years, creating a life rich with stories, friendships and passions. His family is keen to celebrate every part of that life – bringing together friends from across the world to honour the man they knew and loved.
Roger was a true Bristolian, but his life reached far beyond the city. A loyal Bristol Rovers fan since the 1960s, he followed the team across the country. He spent many happy days at the County Ground supporting Somerset and travelled the world following England cricket – from Australia to the West Indies. His love of travel began with a trip to Scandinavia at 18 and recently came full circle when he visited South America, completing his journey to every continent. He lived in the North East, Oxford and Hong Kong, made friends everywhere he went, and with his golden train pass, was always on the move.
If you were part of Roger’s world, we’d love to hear from you. What are your standout memories or favourite photos? And if you had to write a few ‘rules for life’ inspired by Roger, what would be they be?
